I started my first job with the government this April as causal for 90 days and the contract was extended one more month.
I would have obtained a one-year Term position if I would have passed my Oral French.
But I didn't.
My last day was Monday, August 16.
It has been more than a month.
I was busy the whole time. It almost felt like a luxury vacation.
We had A Little Trip to Gaspe.
I watched three movies on Tuesdays, one alone and two with friends.
We played cards during the week and spent A Day in the Park...a few times.
I even had A Pleasant Trip to Quebec city.
I made A Trip to Mont-Royal...twice in three days and enjoyed Connecting with Nature.
I even applied for Employment Insurance when it was close to a month's mark after my last day at work.
I got the funds in yesterday which I am very grateful for.
I started feeling something missing from my "normal" daily routine (from April to August)
Waking around 5,000 steps before 8:00 am
Working for a few hours till noon
Walking for another 5,000 steps during my lunch break
Working for another few hours till 5:00
Dinner plus another short walk after
Today is the first day I got that "normal" routine back.
I had four meetings. I received 175 emails during my absence and I cleaned up my inbox well.
I reached to a few colleagues and received warm welcomes.
"The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything"
I totally agree but going back to work and interacting with others satisfies me more profoundly.
It is a WONDERFUL feeling.
