It was written by Carol S. Dweck. It was recommended to me by A Beautiful Friend in the Neighborhood.
Based on the Goodreads.com. It got over 7,000 reviews and 85,536 ratings. The final rating is 4.07 but the book reviews are mixed.
The basic concept of this book is about Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset. It could be a supplementary read for the other book I recommended: The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, by John C. Maxwell.
Here is an excerpt from the book which provides an understanding guideline:
Your intelligence is something very basic about you that you can not change very much
You can learn new things, but you can't really change how intelligent you are
No matter how much intelligence you have, you can always change it quite a bit
You can always substantially change how intelligent you are
Questions 1 and 2 are the fixed-mindset questions. Questions 3 and 4 reflect the growth mindset. The book believes that most people lean toward one or the other even though you believe that you are a mixture.
You can substitute "artistic talent", "sports ability" or "business skill", even "personal qualities" for "intelligence".
It's a groundbreaking idea about the power of our mindset, but I find the book stretch a bit too long: E-book on phone is 647 and the audiobook lasts more than 10 hours.
As a life long learner, I believe the power of a growth mindset.
