Suzannah: Angela and I worked on the Executive Board of the McGill Toastmasters Club, where she was responsible for Public Relations and Marketing. Angela's initiative, focus, and reliability were a HUGE asset to our Board (where she served for 8 years). She created the club's very first newsletter, in which she wrote, edited, took photos, managed other writers to keep their deadlines, taught herself design and layout to make it very professional-looking, and made sure to launch at the same time every quarter. This newsletter turned out to be a very valuable tool to keep the members connected and engaged, and everyone looked forward to receiving it. She took full responsibility for it for all the years that we worked together, and never let one slip.
But it wasn't only the newsletter that made Angela such an asset. She is a talented and eloquent public speaker, and while she inspires with her speaking skills, she very adept at supporting others in elevating their abilities as well. In all the time that I worked alongside Angela, she was always coming up with ideas and then implementing them, hitting the ground running in every project she undertook, and had a smile for everyone around her.
All that, PLUS she was always, always friendly, personable, and professional. She's both a self-starter and a team player. This is why, even after we haven't seen each other in many years, we continue to stay in touch and keep updated in each other's lives. She would be a wonderful asset to any team.
