This morning, I told a friend I would write a blog entry tonight. It is a way of motivating myself to write so I don't have to answer this question tomorrow: hi, where is the article you promised?
I don't write daily anymore but I do intend to write at least once a week.
The dilemma sometimes is this: by the time I sat down. I didn't know where to start because I had too much on my mind, not because I had nothing to say.
Let's recap the highlights of this month so far, shall we?
Playing cards (打牌) once a week at my home has become an absolute delight. This past weekend we also celebrated a Rose lady's 🌹🌹🌹 birthday, with homemade cake (by another friend) and a bouquet of red/white roses. She also appeared on my blog and in my life as A Ray of Sunshine (click on the red to read that article)
Une Belle Course is a nice movie I watched with a good friend at the cinema. We shared a Chinese meal and walked both ways to see the movie. The actress is 94 years old and she played a very fine character. The actor is a comedian. I watched a few of his movies and I like his performance
February 9th marked the two-year anniversary of my son and his girlfriend's romance. I made an online photo album with all the photos I took or saved. They were both pleasantly surprised 😀😀😀
On Valentine's day, I invited a friend for dinner + movie. I also gave her a box of Merci chocolate: a small gesture to show my appreciation for her constant thoughtfulness. Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom, is the movie we saw and I could go and watch it again, just for the fun of it. It is in French with English subtitles
I was invited to watch a show at Place des Arts and was super impressed by the top-notch performances called: Les drapeaux humains. They mixed strength and beauty in a perfect fashion, that is all I can say about their superb performance
I attended my first 5-7 work social event and chatted with a few colleagues. I was also one of the 7 lucky winners of a $50.00 gift card. I am so glad that I went
A ladies' gathering (close to 40 people) yesterday, with a professional presentation on Jade and other jewelry. It was my first time attending. It was very well organized and it gathered so many talents. I even won a small flower bouquet 💐💐💐 but the best part is socializing with people. I met the young lady who was one of the hosts at the performance at Place des Arts I mentioned above. I was told that she has hosted many events yet she is so young. What an admirable talent
I connected with another language exchange partner. He lives in Ottawa and also works for the government. He is eager to learn Chinese and I am aiming for regular practice. A phone conversation is a great way to start our endeavor and we talked twice already since yesterday, pas mal, n'est-ce pas?
For Better or For Worse is a French film which just came out three days ago, I am going to watch it tomorrow. The actor is also a comedian. I saw a few of his movies and I find him hilarious
