A Busy Young Lady 🌹🌹🌹

My daughter is a busy young lady. She reads and writes every day, but she is not very active on social media. She celebrated her birthday last Monday, April 20, with around 30 guests invited. I asked her the day after the party how it went, but she did not read my message I sent on Facebook until a few days later. I was glad that we had a video call over the weekend just before her birthday. She also posted a story on both Instagram and Facebook, although the Facebook story was only visible for 24 hours.

I read her story and copied it down line by line because I wanted to preserve a record of her achievement on my blog.

On my blog, I wrote birthday articles for her in 2021, 2023, and 2025. I’m not sure why I didn’t write anything in 2022 or 2024.

For the story she posted on Facebook, the music is John Coltrane Quartet’s “They Say It’s Wonderful.” Below are the captions for each image.

Once again, it is my birthday.

Bear with me for a minute as I take this opportunity to share some things I did this past year:

  1. Spoke to Malcolm Harris about this book, "What is left" at the firehouse in Oakland

  2. Spoke to @ai_killjoy and Emily Blender about their fantastic new book at @readabookwritealetter in Gunerneville

  3. Made my second appearance on Michael & Us (one of my favorite podcasts)

  4. Spoke at a lovely event at Stanford University hosted by students organizing with @s.e.e.standford and @techforliberation

  5. Spoke to a THR reporter about the symbolism of burning Waymos

  6. Turned my billboard obsession into a recurring column for @baycareacurrent

  8. Had a lovely conversation with David Palombo-Liu for his podcast @speaking_out_of_place (Abolishing Silicon Valley, Building the Commons --A Different Way to Spend Your Life: A Conversation with Wendy Liu)

  9. Went on local radio to talk about (what else) billboards

  10. Wrote about some more billboards for @bayareacurrent: AI Company's Billboards Say Workers Are Disposable. But Are We?

  11. Did a book event with @peninsuladsa at @fireside.rwc in Redwood City

  12. Wrote about the vibe shift for @bayareacurrent: Tech Billboard Decoder: The Great Tech Vibe Shift
