My Wonderful Children

"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about". Angela Schwindt

My daughter Wendy was five when she came to Canada. She was described as a very quiet kid when she was little. One time when I arrived at the kindergarten, she was doing cartwheels and she did a total of 156 non-stop. When she was older, I registered her for many classes: art, swimming, skating, gym, violin, and she excelled at most of them. Her artwork was exhibited in the local bookstore and she jumped from beginning to level 4 in one session of gym class. She was in the gifted program in elementary and she often occupied first place on most subjects in secondary school. She attended McGill and got an offer from Google before she even graduated. She declined that offer and started her startup. She got her Master's from the London School of Economics, She met her life partner during a tech conference in New York, and got married last year. She read 200 books in 2017, wrote 145 articles in Fragments (one each day for 145 days straight) in 2019, and published her debut book this April.

My son Eric was born in Edmonton. In one blog, I attached a 20-page article about his childhood. He followed his sister's footsteps after McGill all the way to San Francisco and lives 25 miles away from her. He declined a job offer from Amazon and will start his Google career soon.

Attached is Eric's toast at his sister's wedding.
