Toastmasters is about learning while having fun.
Toastmasters is also about having fun while learning.
Each year, the last meeting in October is themed for Halloween. Members and guests are invited to dress up (formal) or dress down (casual). In the past, people dressed up as doctors, chefs, witches, police officers, or dressed down as animals: cat, pig, dog, or just came as you were. The cover photo is from the Halloween themed meeting in 2014. I dressed up as an RCMP officer, NOT Michael Jackson, in case you wonder. At least my intention was to be an officer.
One year our President was the Toastmaster of the evening. The whole evening was dedicated to the Halloween theme. We turned off the light while he was telling us the story in the dark. At the end of his story, he ripped his shirt open to reveal his identity. We saw buttons flying before we saw who he really was: A Super Toastmaster Hero!
He designed a superman logo with the toastmaster's logo in the place of the S. and he had it printed on a blue T-Shirt. He ordered the shirt weeks before.
I was mesmerized by his superb performance. If I could, I would present him with an award called the Most Impressive Toastmaster of the Year.
That was the fondest memory I have about a Halloween themed Toastmasters meeting.
Today is the day for us to have a tantalizing Halloween themed meeting. You are encouraged to dress up or dress down to join us.
