Book of the Week (#4): The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth (Part 2)

Updated: Mar 31, 2021

I finished this book a few days ago but the lessons I have learned will last forever.

Here are the rest of the laws:

  1. Law of the ladder: before you can DO, you must BE. Be teachable and willing to serve others because it is not all about you

  2. Law of the rubberband: Life begins at the end of our comfort zone. Being top of the bottom is not an accomplishment. Measure yourself against yourself. Growth stops when you lose the tension from where you are and where you want to be

  3. Law of tradeoffs: Neet to give up some things you value to grow up

  4. Law of curiosity: "All meaningful and last change starts first in your imagination". Einstein. Get over yourself - be like children and just ask. it is better to look uninformed than to be uninformed.

  5. Law of modeling: to know the road ahead, ask those coming back. Cultivate a desire to learn something from every person you meet.

  6. Law of expansion: Stop thinking MORE work and start thinking WHAT works. Stop doing important things occasionally and start doing important things daily. Make your life a masterpiece.

  7. Law of contribution: Model the right behavior for others- be a mentor for others. Be a river, not a reservoir. Give as your receive - abundance mindset. Put people first - tender with young, compassionate with aging, sympathetic with striving, tolerant of weak and strong. Focus on self-development NOT self-fulfillment.

The law of curiosity resonates with me the most. I am concluding with a quote about curiosity:

May you always have a beautiful soul with a fierce demeanor and a curiosity to know.” Anonymous
