The book was written by Thich Nhat Hanh, a renowned Zen meditation master on how to bring love, compassion, and inner peace into your daily life.
Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese monk, he is also a poet, and a peace activist. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr., in 1967,
He has published many books, including the best-selling The Miracle of Mindfulness.
This 2 hour-long audiobook is the first one I came across. It was read by the author himself. It doesn't have all the features mentioned on the internet about the CD-Rom-format enhanced CD version of the book.
It listed four objectives for this teaching course, what resonated with me are the two bolded points:
. List the traditional teachings (gathas) described by Thich Nhat Hanh
. Utilize breathing techniques to deal with issues such as pain, anger and maintaining strength in times of difficulty
. List the aforementioned techniques
. Demonstrate how to maintain being in the present, not getting lost in the past or caught up in the future
During the interview, he demonstrated his wisdom through humor and stories. The only drawback is that sometimes his English was not so easy to understand due to the accent.
The message is still very clear: Living in the Present, like the book I recommended before.
