A Day of Learning

DPI stands for Developing Professionalism in Informatics. PDW = Professional Development Week. It is a premier training event for IM/IT professionals.

For more than 50 years, DPI has been providing leading-edge learning and networking event. It provides opportunities to engage, network, and knowledge share. PDW is attended by over 1,000 delegates ranging from technical analysts and policymakers to senior managers who all share a common goal: self-development.

This year's PDW falls on May 12, 13. Perfect timing.

I am lucky to attend and benefit from the following keynotes and seminars.

Keynote #1: What Are Our Blind Spots?

Ziya Tong | Author of The Reality Bubble | Award-Winning Broadcaster

Keynote #2: Navigating opposing realities: 21st-century stress and innovation

Dr. Shimi Kang | Award-Winning Harvard-Trained Physician | Bestselling Author | Global Social Entrepreneur

Seminar #1: Flexibility and Risk in the Face of Crisis

Paul Glover | President, Shared Services Canada (SSC)

Seminar #2 The Mindfulness Advantage: Avoiding Burnout

Trish Tutton | Speaker & Mindfulness Expert

Seminar #4: Créer et inspirer une culture de coaching

Denis Lévesque | Président, Conférencier et Coach, Solutions OptiGestion

Seminar #5: Skills for Tomorrow: Building Digital Capacity for the Federal Government

Keynote #2 is the top-notch keynote, captivating and intriguing. Seminar #2 is practical and engaging. Seminar #4 is in French, with funny content in English but the speaker was very serious throughout. Some speakers could use some Toastmasters training though.

All event was well attended, with attendance way over 1,000 mark. One had over 1,700.

Thanks to technology for enabling such great capacity of learning and networking opportunities.
