What Motivates YOU?

Updated: Sep 25, 2020

Can you identify a few sources listed in this: The 10 most common sources of motivations?

For me, it is self-validation and words of encouragement from others (not listed).

Sam Horn, my favorite author posts on LinkedIn almost daily and I follow her articles/posts religiously. I wrote one post about her book Got Your Attention?

She said: "You are never too OLD for NEW dreams".

I quoted that in my blog post "100" and I mentioned her quote in my comment for her post on LinkedIn, for which she commented:

"Kudos to you Angela He for writing 100 blogs in 100 days. That IS an achievement to be proud of, and is such an example of creating something tangible you will always be able to look back on and be glad you did ... TODAY, not SOMEDAY".

That SOMEDAY is the book I will recommend next Wednesday.

"I think that the “ease of use” for your blog is good. Your readers don’t have to search for your material; this means that your writing will gain more views and, possibly, feedback. The pictures are eye catching and correlate with each specific topic. I believe your ability to be personable resonated the most." Lauren D. Merritt-Taylor

Here is an heartwarming email from one of my mentors regarding my PPT project: My Life in Black and White. "All very beautiful and as well thoughtful. You are inspiring for others as others are for you. You lust for learning and your positive go get it attitude, is what truly makes you shine".

Those words of encouragement added a lot of value to my self-validation.

What fuels YOU?

To answer what motivates me, it’s reading stories like yours on how committed you are to everything you do and it pushes me to always want to do more and to become more like you.
