I have been to Quebec City, the capital of Quebec province, a few times.
According to Wikipedia: It is the eleventh largest city and the seventh-largest metropolitan area in Canada. It is also the second-largest city in the province after Montreal, the city I have lived in since August 2003 and made it my home.
Quebec city is one of the oldest European cities in North America. For someone who has not yet traveled much to Europe, it gave me some tastes of what European cities would look like.
My fond memories include walking around the old Quebec city and shopping for small souvenirs, admiring the Monmorency falls from far and near, attending Quebec Winter Carnival, touring the famous Château Frontenac and dining in fine French restaurants.
My favorite was to have a chance to enjoy the charm and elegance of authentic horse-drawn carriage ride through the streets of Vieux-Québec. It was a treat for my birthday. It was a sunny warm October day in 2016. The coachman was very welcoming and he even brought his helper to keep us company. Thinking of it now brings me back that fuzzy feelings of warmth and cozeness. I loved the ride and hope that I can revisit the city again in the near future.
Yes, I would like to take the horse-drawn carriage ride again through the streets of Vieux-Québec. It was very pleasant and appealing, I could listen to the history while admiring the surroundings and soaking under the glorious fall colours.
What is a better way to tour the city? To me, that is the best way!
