Together is Better

Updated: Nov 5, 2020

That is the title of a book but it also fits the bill for this article.

The French language has always been a mystery to me. I am charmed by its beauty but also intimidated by its complexity.

I did take lessons in the past. The thing is, if you don't practice, it is gone with the wind.

This week, in the Chinese Wechat community, a courageous, creative, and caring lady started a group called "Le Coin de la Langue Francaise" and caused quite a stir. Her daughter is one of the teachers. All teachers and their assistants are volunteers. A few people praised this group as the "BEST" among all. We are more than 70 students and are divided into four small groups. The class runs three times a week, with homework after each session.

Yesterday was only the second class. I found myself doing homework at 7:00 this morning.

Learning always fascinates me. Learning with a group of like-minded people fuels me with more enthusiasm and energy. This corner provides a great platform to learn from each other as well. For example, I could listen to other people's recordings before recording mine. It is also a great opportunity to connect with others and make new friends.

Together is better, especially when it comes to learning French.

"Life is beautiful is not because of the things we see or the things we do. Life is beautiful because of the people we meet." Simon Sinek, author of the book "Together is Better." which I will recommend next Wednesday.

Cheers to all the teachers and my fellow students.

Here is the story behind the scenes.
