One Fine Day

Today is International Labor Day. In China, if May 1st falls on a weekday, people would get a day off as a holiday. I don't think that applies here.

Well, today is Saturday anyway. Most people do get a day off from work.

The sun was shining when I went out early for my solo morning walk. I listened to some French material, chatted with a few friends, picked up a book from the local library, and did my first 10,000 steps.

I booked my first vaccine appointment against Covid-19.

Today I heard that one big vaccination center was closed due to a protest.

I don't understand the logic behind it. How could one turn blinds eyes to the reality of over ten thousand deaths in one's own province and seek so-called human rights and freedom? You don't have to get the shot if you don't believe in science but you don't have to use your right to prevent others from having their rights.

I am grateful for having a better protection opportunity against the virus.

I am also grateful for a peaceful stroll in the afternoon in Jarry Park. People played all kinds of sports. Kids biked around or kept themselves busy in the playground. There were a few kites flying in the sky. There were balloons and decorations for birthday or graduation celebrations.

What a wonderful world.

By the time I sat down in front of the computer. It was 7:00 pm. My watch reads 22,620 steps, it is about 17 kilometers.

Time to call it a day. 😀
