Networking - A Definition

Updated: Sep 9, 2020

According to Merriam-Webster, networking is the exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions. Especially: the cultivation of productive relationships for employment or business.

It also means the establishment or use of a computer network.

The cultivation of a productive relationship is my primary guideline. Every Thursday (from today), I will do something productive to five connections in my network.

Today I started by sending an appreciation email message to my mentors. I was inspired by this quote:

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." William Authur Ward.

I am fortunate to have five mentors. Two are Toastmasters related. Three are not TM related.

They are there for me when I needed a piece of advice, words of wisdom, or words of encouragement.

I want to be there for them whenever they need a helping hand or a listening ear,

I am grateful to have these mentors to support my purpose and push me to become a better version of myself.

Here are the names of my mentors and their LinkedIn headlines:

  • Suzannah Baum: In-Person & Virtual Presentation Skills & Leadership Communication Expert ♦ Executive Speech Coach ♦ Keynote Speaker ♦ Chocolate Hoarder

  • George Tabah: Freelance B2B Writer | Marketing Content Writer | Copywriter

  • Tracy Artemchuk: Employment Counselor at Groupe Priorité Travail inc.

  • Chesline Pierre-Paul: Coach | Writer | Keynoter | Global Thought Leader |

  • Paul LeBlanc: Career Transition Coach at Influence Career Coaching

Thank YOU for being a BIG part of my life!
