Now I did it. I had a great opening and a call to action conclusion.
My evaluator did an excellent job and thanks to her, I had the idea of my opening.
A smart lady once said, “your mentor is your seatbelt”. I say: “if you want to enjoy the ride. You’d better have your seatbelt secured from the very beginning”.
But I lost my train of thoughts right after that opening and I had some awkward moments. I did pick up the pace after but it wasn't as good as I expected.
Here are some of the feedback I received from my fellow Toastmasters:
Lovely thing to see when someone is thankful as you are. NIce speech
Long pauses between sentences, very nice, slower pace well maintained, eye contact to the camera, can see hands gestures, camera angle well-aimed, A lot of content, to share, well prepared, smooth delivery and smart ways shared to make use of mentors. An interesting topic is relatable to everyone. Could have more energy
Well dressed and I really enjoyed your presentation. Full of energy and great information ❤️🦋🤍
That was excellent! The stories you shared are so well-chosen
Great Speech Angela. Really inspiring
A beautiful speech, my dear friend. So authentic, and how wonderful to hear you speak again. Thank you for making my day, my week, my month. I was the fortunate one to have met YOU back in 2005!! (from my mentor Suzannah)
Very personal speech and positive message, convincing!
My other mentor emailed me his feedback after the meeting and they are thought-provoking.
Thank you all for being on this journey of personal growth with me.
Super Proud of you!
