I am giving a speech tomorrow evening, but I still have not found a perfect opening...yet.
I know that I will have no problem telling my stories once I start and I might have to watch the timing closely in case I am carried away.
What about that intriguing opening? How can I get the audience's attention right away? What kind of questions should I ask?
Should I start with a quote from below? I do agree with them all.
"A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you." — Bob Proctor
“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” — John Crosby
“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey.
I did invite both of my mentors and I hope that they will show up.
I was lucky to find a few photos from the past for this post.
Can you guess who they might be?
Come and find out interesting stories about my mentors and insights about friendship (topic from the other speaker).
