When I finished my four-year studies and got my Bachelor of Arts, I was not even 20 years old.
I didn't know where my career path could be.
I decided to study more instead. Three years later, I got my Masters of Arts from a university which was situated in the capital of the province.
I almost chose my career path in the university where I developed a strong interest in the English language, especially oral English.
I could have stayed in the university and teach foreign students Chinese. My thought behind was: if they don't understand me, I will explain to them in English and I will improve my oral English faster.
I was told later on: I was NOT allowed to communicate with them in English. I was supposed to ONLY speak Chinese with them so they can improve faster.
Well, that didn't happen. I was dating at that time and he found a job in Beijing, the capital of China before graduation.
I took the train and started my job search. One week later, I secured a job with the government.
When I started working as a government worker, I was a few months shy away from my 23rd birthday. An age that was admired by many colleagues and myself many years later.
I traveled, attended conferences, and gained a lot of office experiences, yet, I know nothing about computers and never heard about email.
I did start a side hustle: writing after my daughter was born.
When my then-husband started studying in Canada, I realized that my career path would probably also change.
It did!
