Last Tuesday, at the Toastmasters meeting, I was called by the Chairperson to do a "Moment of Reflection" that I did NOT prepare. I totally forgot about what I signed up for. My brain drew blank for a few seconds, then something came to me: "you never have a second chance to make a first impression". I don't remember who said that but it was counted for a good last-minute "Moment of Reflection", commented by the General Evaluator.
I learned the lesson. I signed up roles for the next four weeks and I wrote them down one by one on my agenda.
Next week I am doing another "Moment of Reflection". This time, I will be better prepared.
The following quotes are from a friend on WeChat, who has been diligently posting quotes. I find that some are inspiring. The one I like the most is something I have been doing yet without realizing the impact or heard the saying...
"Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart"
"Only those who will risk going too far can possible find out how far one can go." T.S. Eliot
"If it is important to you, you will find a way. If it is not, you will find excuses."
"Perseverance, the secret of all triumphs".
"Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong." That is what I have been doing since day one, not one day.
One day or day one, you decide.
Which one resonates well with you?
