Listening is the New Reading

Have you heard about this: Listening is the new reading?

I haven't until recently but I have been doing the listening daily since March 2018 when I discovered the magic of audiobooks from the library. I used to borrow audiobooks on CD and had to copy those files to a device before I could listen to them, then I had to go to the library to return the physical CDs...

With the new audiobooks, now you borrow, you download and you renew or let it expire on its own. You have 21 days to listen. I was amazed by how fast I could finish listening to a novel of over 300 pages in just few days (sometimes three days). There is no way for me to sit down and read a 300-pages book in three days.

The attached article recorded the audiobooks I have enjoyed once I was convinced listening is the new reading, all the more so now because of the new reality. I have been doing close to two hours walking daily but of course, I don't just listen to books, I listen to music and sometimes comedians. I need to explore more the podcast and add more variety to my listening,

I believe that each of us spends a lot of alone time on the go: in the car, on the bus/metro (before COVID-19, a lot more for sure), walking, running...

Have you switched your reading a book in hand to listen to one in your ear...yet?
