"Tell Me and I Forget; Teach Me and I May Remember; Involve Me and I Learn". I don't know who said it. but it is a great quote. It is a true reflection of my Toastmasters involvement,
I have been involved with the executive committee of McGill Toastmasters Club since 2005 and have gained great confidence and developed strong leadership skills through many roles I took on. The attached short article detailed what I have learned through each role. I have grown the most through being Club President. I wrote articles to document my remarkable experience as VP Education and VP Mentorship, which I will post later.
By actively participating at each and every meeting, I learned to be an active listener, an effective listener, and an overall better communicator.
I have also made many friends along the way, not just Facebook friends, although more than 50% of my Facebook friends do come from Toastmasters, In fact, I was introduced to Facebook by a Toastmasters colleague many years ago.
The best learning experience with Toastmasters has sustained me. I have always been a loyal fan and a promoter.
Involve yourself with our weekly meeting and trust me, YOU will learn.
