Happy Valentine's Day

Updated: Mar 27, 2021

How did you spend this Valentine's Day?

Did you have flowers delivered to your door?

Did you cook a special meal for you and your loved ones?

I attended a world-class Toastmasters meeting in the morning and took a walk in the afternoon in the Centre de la Nature. I received some thoughtful gifts from my hubby and a smiling photo of my son with his new girlfriend.

For the Toastmasters meeting, six finalists for the World Championship of Public Speaking were there to speak about love and connection,

130 people from all over the world attended the meeting. It indeed felt like a global meeting.

It was well organized and well-executed, with six heart-warming, witty, profound, and thought-provoking speeches.

  1. Rich Hopkins - Connect Anyway: Around The World in 180 Days. An amazing journey of a "traveling" Toastmaster who has been a member for more than 20 years

  2. Yolanda BynumBridge Over Troubled Waters. Moving speech

  3. Phil BarthBest Connection I Made. Key message: even when we are disconnected from the rest of the world. We can still reconnect with the ones we love the most.

  4. Lindy MacLaineWe’re Not In Kansas Anymore. She is the 3rd Place of 2020. She gave great tips on online presentations

  5. Linda-Marie MillerBlind Love. 2nd Place of 2020. She shared her beautiful love story with a powerful message: fall in love from the inside out and the rest won't matter

  6. Sporty King My Piece Of The Puzzle….Or Puzzled! He started with a poem which was so fitting for the meeting's theme. He is an author with many books. "The master of listening"
