Today is the FIRST day of 2024.
I got home after midnight from a friend's home. We played cards from 2023 into the new year. I didn't go to bed until 1:30 am. I didn't turn on my alarm. I was using my biology clock as I always do over the weekend and on holiday.
I planned to spend a quiet day at home: cleaning the fridge, organizing CDs and DVDs, and catching up on some reading.
I asked Google when we are going to have a sunny day but she told me NOT until next Wednesday.
When I opened my eyes this morning and saw a little pinkish light on my wall. I got up and opened the curtain: OMG, SUNNY!
My plan changed in that moment. I decided to do my laundry, then to the Botanical Garden.
A friend called and she thought about the same thing, but she was thinking about going to a National Park.
That is what we did. We went to The Parc National du Mont-Saint-Bruno.
We treated ourselves to hot chocolate, double-double, and ice cappuccino in Tim Horton after hiking for more than two hours.
We tasted rice noodles at a South Shore Chinese restaurant called Nouilles de riz Yunnan 十秒到.
The food was brought to us in what felt like really in ten seconds (十秒到).
It was the first time my friend's hubby tried this restaurant and he was impressed.
He stopped by and fixed a few things chez moi. I showed my appreciation with a piece of chocolate pastry.
I played Duolingo and Elevate before writing this blog.
Now I am going to watch a movie. I just picked up ten DVDs from the library the other day.
Here is what is on my Fitbit dashboard (not sure about the floors as there wasn't much climbing at all)
Daily Totals
23,449 steps
133 floors
16.23 km
2,266 calories
My son sent over some photos about hiking somewhere in Columbia, with her girlfriend and her parents.
Great minds think alike!
I am happy that we stepped into the New Year this way!
To a prosperous 2024, Cheers!
