What is your favorite month of the year? and your favorite season?
My favorite season is fall because I always fall for the richness of colors and fall is also a harvest season.
My favorite month is this month: October.
This October, I am grateful for a fruitful and colorful one even though we are only halfway through the month:
Attended the Flag Raising Celebration on Oct. 1. It was the first time for me in Canada. A few of us dressed up for the occasion and participated in the ceremony with pride. On the same day, I had two friends over for lunch and we all went back for the celebration dinner in the Restaurant Ruby Rouge, we had lobster. It was quite a dinner 🦞🦞🦞😋😋😋
Thanksgiving holiday celebration with my friends at a beautiful chalet in the Laurentide region. The weather was not very commendable but our spirits were. We had a lot of laughter, a lot of food and a lot of photos. We played cards at night, recited poems, and sang songs in candle-led lights. There were at one point, eight of us, including the one and only male companion, Linda's brother who just came over from China the day before. He brought us the precious Kweichow Moutai (贵州茅台). When I searched on the internet, I came across this interesting article that mentioned this: At 1,498 yuan, or $209 for a half-liter bottle, they flew off shelves at Costco in China like crazy 🍷🍷🍷
Last year, on my birthday, October 13, I wrote an article on my blog counting my top 10 blessings. This birthday, I got a special greeting from my birthday twin-my son's girlfriend, and many birthday wishes on Facebook. Lunch was Dim Sum with a newly made friend who works across the street. The sun came out just in time for a few photos taken on the street of Chinatown. Dinner was prepared by three friends. My birthday was celebrated over the Thanksgiving weekend, with an Apple Pie and a birthday song. I was made special again on my birthday and the day after when my friends came over to play cards. I was showered with birthday cake, a flower basket, a pair of beautiful earrings, cards, chocolate, and video calls from my kids. Nothing super fancy but they brought smiles to my face and joy to my heart 🍰🍰🍰🎁🎁🎁
My scale gave me a 95% score and a body age of 42. I am very pleased, I got only 92% last year 😄😄😄
Icing on the cake? my daughter is coming to town tomorrow😊😊😊
Last but not least, a much-expected cruise vacation (my last one was in January 2020 right before COVID), my #8 cruise, with a new cruise line - Enchanted Princess will start this Friday, for 11 nights...
“Ah, Lovely October, as you usher in the season that awakens my soul, your awesome beauty compels my spirit to soar like a leaf caught in an autumn breeze and my heart to sing like a heavenly choir.”— Peggy Toney Horton
