Canadian Tulip Festival is held annually in May in Ottawa. It claims to be the world's largest tulip festival, displaying over one million tulips, with an attendance of over 650,000 visitors, according to Wikipedia.
A few of us did plan to go today but a text message from my French tutor advised us NOT to go due to the damage caused by the storm on Saturday.
I called/texted a few friends in Ottawa today, fortunately, they just lost the power electricity, so not that bad. I did see a few very disturbing images on the internet. It was indeed a day of extreme weather on Saturday, no wonder we each received an amber alert on our cellphones.
Today was totally different. The weather was gorgeous. I took advantage of it and did the following:
Attended an amazing Fleurs de Ville exhibition at Complex Dejardin
Had lunch by Beaver lake on Mont-Royal
Watched a new movie: Downton Abbey: A New Era, a movie
Bought 4 things from Winners using the gift card I got from my friends. Thank YOU!
Doing those things contributed to my 15 km walk today.
I have to say that I had an amazing three days this long weekend...with tons of love from friends and some assuring self-love as well.
