Canada Day Weekend

It is the first long weekend this summer and it has been GREAT šŸ¤—šŸ¤—šŸ¤—

I finished work at 4 pm on Friday but waited for a colleague till 5 pm and we had dinner together in China Town. The dinner was delicious and the Jazz concert we went to after dinner was very festive. There were so many people and so much enthusiasm. It was so joyful just to be one among the crowd. I adore the feeling šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

Saturday was Canada Day and I participated in my first-ever Canada Day parade. I was walking and dancing on the street for more than one hour. Our group was all dressed in pretty costumes and attracted much attention from the crowd. The weather was humid but I still enjoyed the unique way of celebrating the year 156th as a proud Canadian šŸšŸšŸ

After the parade and a ęœé²œå†·é¢ (with Ice cubes floating in the bowl), my energy came back so I challenged myself and played badminton for 2 hours. It was an exciting experience. I was lucky that I even got a ride home after the game when it was pouring šŸŒ§ļøšŸŒ§ļøšŸŒ§ļø

It was a day of 27,975 steps = over 20 km šŸ˜²šŸ˜²šŸ˜²

Sunday was a different story. It was a day to relax and to recharge. I went to the library and spent a good hour there putting my thoughts on paper (my to-do list), then I walked/biked to my friend's place and played cards in her condo's cool activity room (only 18 C and we had to cover ourselves well). We went out for lunch and came back to play again. My friend prepared a tasty dinner at 9:30 and I got a ride home after. I went straight to bed šŸŒ†šŸŒ†šŸŒ†

Monday was a day of biking 42 km along the Lachine Canal and the St. Lawrence River with a colleague. I was happy to finally locate the mysterious Pink House and I was amazed by the talents of the artists. It is my fourth bike ride and my first one since my Tour de l'Ć®le. We agreed to try to do one together each month and I like the idea šŸšµā€ā™€ļøšŸšµā€ā™€ļøšŸšµā€ā™€ļø

After the ride, I played PingPong and walked around the neighborhood. I learned about a new game called Bocce and enjoyed watching two people play. People watching on a hot summer day while sipping iced cappuccino was a very pleasant experiencešŸØšŸØšŸØ

A superb weekend indeed and I truly appreciate each of YOU who has been a part šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

Happy Canada Day and I hope that you also had a wonderful weekend šŸŒ¹šŸŒ¹šŸŒ¹
