Books of the Week (#30): Blessing in Disguise

Updated: Mar 27, 2021

She is called "the queen of romance".

She is a mother of 9 children and an author of 179 books.

She has sold over 800 million copies and is one of the richest authors in the world.

Her name is Danielle Steel.

She has published 3 books this year and we are only in March.

She is a writer I adore since I came across her books in 2018. I have listened to all her audiobooks owned by the library and read quite a few of her paperback books also.

her books are pretty much all feel-good books, meaning, there is always a happy ending.

"Everything will be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it is not the end." John Lennon.

Blessing in Disguise is one of my favorites.

I don't remember much of the story but I love the message behind it.

What one thought was a tragedy at the beginning, ended up as a blessing in disguise.

I call those happy incidents and I have my own stories to validate the statement.

In 2015, my job was abolished.

I got the chance to study French full time for a year. I visited my family in China and landed a much better job a year later.

In 2020, I lost my job.

I did a lot of learning. I expanded my network and made some wonderful connections. I rediscovered my passion for writing and my fabulous blog is now my daily passion fruit.

I am also well on my way to land my dream job...

Indeed, losing jobs became a blessing in disguise.

The attached article: A Perfect Storm was born with the job loss in 2015, plus a Toastmasters speech.
