Stand out by building your brand, by William Arruda, Kirsten Dixson
The hardcover copy of this book was published in 2007 but the audiobook I listened to became available only in September 2018. It is a six-hours long audiobook. I assume that the audio version content might have been updated. I find the content is relevant and the definition of "band" solid. "Your credibility, visibility, personality, and personal style all make up your brand".
The book "demonstrates how to express who you are and the value you bring to your organization-branding you as an indispensable, memorable, and unique professional."
At the end of the book, it provided a summary of the following 12 tips. I added my interpretation but I am not sure if I got every word right. I have to borrow it again to verify some words:
Know yourself: Yes, a must
Flan your corks: I may not get this right
Maximum your strength: Be the best you can be
Google yourself regularly, ego surf regularly: Believe it or not, I can NOT find myself
Ask for feedback: That is how one can grow
Be a connector: Be a networker
Think big: You are what you think. Better NOT think small
keep refining and become a life long learner, ambitious, and focus on personal and professional growth: My motto for life
Define your own crowd: I need to learn more on this one
Give to your network, the more you give, the more you get: I totally agree on this one
Mark everything you do: What does that mean?
Be a confident communicator: demonstrate your conviction and your passion: That is why I have been a passionate Toastmaster since 2003
