The book was written by the critically acclaimed, international best-selling author Candace Bushnell. She has published ten books. The most famous one is "Sex and City" published in 1996. It was the basis for the HBO hit series and two subsequent blockbuster movies.
I was a fan of the TV series and I also watched the two movies. I never read the books though.
Is There Still Sex In the City? is currently in development as a TV series with Paramount. It will be added to my "watch list". I sometimes feel the based-on-books TVs or Movies tend to add more elements. At least it can be more memorable due to the visual effects.
Is There Still Sex In the City? is on the highs and lows of sex and dating for women after fifty. The author looks at love and life from various angles and she has her own in-depth unique take on the subject. It could be an eye-opener sometimes.
"Set between the Upper East Side of Manhattan and a country enclave known as The Village, Is There Still Sex in the City? gathers Bushnell’s signature short, sharp, satirical commentaries on the love and dating habits of middle-aged men and women as they continue to navigate the ever-modernizing world of relationships. Throughout, Bushnell documents 21st-century dating phenomenon, such as the “Unintended Cub Situation” in which a sensible older woman suddenly becomes the love interest of a much younger man, the “Mona Lisa” Treatment—a vaginal restorative surgery often recommended to middle-aged women, and what it’s really like to go on Tinder dates as a fifty-something divorcee".
The book was a light-hearted delightful 6 hours audio read.
Happy reading!
