I was immediately drawn by the title when I browsed the library website. The author is Eckhart Tolle. He is considered one of the finest spiritual teachers of our times.
Living a life of inner peace, isn't it the ultimate goal we all strive to achieve? I know it is for me for sure so I borrowed it as soon as it became available.
It was a two-hour easy-listening audiobook. It was a "recording of his most moving, transformative talks".
The message of the talk was simple yet very profound. He delivered the message in a gentle, humorous way as I often heard giggles and laughers in the background. He himself even couldn't contain himself from time to time. I could feel the relaxed and funny sense of the talk and his message was converted through stories and insightful observations, which made the message more relatable and personable.
As eloquently put under the description of the book: "Eckhart makes us laugh at ourselves — while helping us break through habitual thinking to discover the eternal presence of the Now. When you listen, you discover that something deeper is happening beyond the words being spoken. A field of alert stillness arises where before there was mental noise. You find yourself in what Eckhart calls a state of presence — and it can lead to a dramatic transformation in the way you live your life."
I have also read one of his best-selling books "The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment" in the past, that book was recommended by Oprah Winfrey.
