Here are the rest of the questions from the Zoom interview this coming Thursday.
You've been super resilient in your professional life. I know you lost your job before the pandemic and now landed a new job. Job searching is not an emotionally easy process, especially during a pandemic. How did you hold your cool and land this new job?
I have to admit, it is NOT easy. Even though I am a self-motivated person, I still need a boost from time to time. I reached out to get support. Job Seekers Club was a great start. I also participated in various events hosted by CATS. Those events help me expand my network substantially. A few became my mentors. I keep encouraging myself with learning, reading, and a few daily habits: 10,000 steps, Duolingo for French (today is 137), and Elevate for English/Math). Little by little, they make a big difference in my life.

You raised two excellent children as a single mom after your first marriage. Any suggestions for other immigrants raising kids in a foreign country?
Don't forget to tend to your own needs while taking care of others. You can not raise happy kids while being miserable yourself. Always remember to make time for yourself.
Looking back, what would you tell the younger self just arriving in a foreign country?
If you want to do something, either going back to school or studying a new language, or having another child, do it sooner than later.
