It is a catchy title, isn't it?
When I was invited by a fellow Toastmasters for an interview to share my story as an immigrant, I didn't know what to expect.
I just know that it was the experiment of her endeavor as a podcaster for her website. The podcast is one of the categories on her website.
The motive for her website is very noble: share empowering stories of immigrants!
I am honored to be the second person she invited to her "virtual studio". I am humbled by her kind words of introducing me as her mentor.
I maybe helped her a little at the beginning of her Toastmasters journey. What I find remarkable is how fast she has progressed and how confident she has become. With active membership from two dynamic clubs, in just a few years, she has transformed herself from a shy soft-spoken young lady to a speaking powerhouse. She will be the Club President as of July 1st.
Her own immigrant story is an empowering one. Read here.
Her website design is simple and elegant, contents are well written. The audio is very clear.
I love what she wrote:
"Angela came to Canada in 1997 from China. She wanted to have a second child and get a degree from a North American university. She did both! She raised two excellent children as a single mom who considers self-care and self-love an essential part of life. Angela takes self-development as a daily practice."
She didn't post a photo of herself on her website but she was in this photo.
