I was supposed to write about "My Life In China".
I am writing about my wonderful Toastmasters meeting instead.
I was the Chair Person. There were 18 people in attendance. 3 people were returning guests, maybe future Toastmasters.
I posted my blog yesterday on both Facebook and LinkedIn. There are 194 views on LinkedIn.
I don't have a status from Facebook viewers but I do have 553 friends and some of them are quite active.
One member wrote to me through the chat "Now I understand why you have so enjoyed the TM meeting as you are always prepared and perform well and thus the positive energy and feedback from here can radiant other aspects of your life, I learned that no matter how busy my daily schedule is, I need to prepare each meeting before meeting at least 30 min."
While I feel flattered by her kind words but I don't agree with her on the preparation part. To be honest, I didn't prepare much at all. Well, I wrote about the theme on my blog and I did reflect a bit. That is all. Everything else came with practice, practice, and more practice, after attending so many meetings for so many years. We are not far from meeting #1000 and I have attended 90% of the meetings since I became a member in 2003.
I have to say that she did a great job as Table Topics Master and she even prepared extra questions last minute at my request. One of her questions is a great quote:
Life is not so important as the duties of life. -John Randolph
What is your interpretation of that quote?
