A Speech

I don't usually write about Toastmasters after the meeting, I write before the meeting so I could insert the meeting link in my article. One purpose of writing about Toastmasters is to let more people know about the amazing organization I have been an active member of since 2003.

Tonight I feel like writing about a speech I listened to and was impressed by.

A speech titled Be Patient by Nadia, the current President of McGill Toastmasters, also my mentee at one point.

The message was very inspiring. To me, it is a total contest-worthy speech. She could win at the club and go to the Area representing our club.

Nadia has been with McGill Club for a little bit over four years, from a shy, soft-spoken person to this assertive confident speaker, she has transformed herself into a beautiful butterfly in such a short time. She used to send over speech scripts before she delivered them for my feedback. Now I am super impressed by her choice of words and the richness of her content, plus the much improved vocal variety. She shines like a star through the virtual meetings, each time is better than the previous one, literally.

Wow, she is like a powerhouse of original ideas and confident delivery.

I am super proud of her.

I am glad that I found a photo with just two of us from a time when we still had in-person meetings. The photo was taken on July 31, 2019. I believe that she was the Chairperson at that meeting and I must have won something.

Cheers to a great speech, Nadia. You inspire us ALL!
