What are your proud moments? Do you remember how you felt in those proud moments?
Being an active member of Toastmasters has brought me many proud moments, the proudest one was receiving the honor: Club President of the Year 2008-2009.
I remember that I dedicated that honor to my mentor,
I remember that I dedicated that honor to my club.
I also remember that I sent an email listing ten reasons why me to the district leaders to nominate myself for that award. I was inspired by the previous recipient who nominated himself to get the award. I didn't know I could do that. I thought we should always stay as "Unsung Heros" as we were taught.
Toastmasters has taught me how to "sell myself", the in-demand skill in today's job market.
Sometimes we have to be the biggest advocate of ourselves, don't we?
Toastmasters also saved me a year and half before that award (see attached).
