A New Daily Habit

I started the year 2022 with an intention of creating a new daily habit: 5-15 minutes of morning meditation, guided, of course.


There are so many free videos out there, all I need is to find a few and stick to them.


I did and so far so good.


If I wake up before my Alexa wakes me at 6:45, I would choose a 10-15 minutes video, if I feel lazy or wake up when the alarm sets off, I will go with a shorter one, yes, there is something that lasts only 5 minutes but the positive impact might last you the whole day.


At least that is what I am aiming for: starting a day on the right foot with a short meditation.


I came across this article which talks about the five reasons why one should start a day with a morning medication:

  1. How you start your day is how you live your day: a morning meditation will set the tone for a calm, mindful, and productive day

  2. You are less likely to make excuses in the morning

  3. You will be more productive at work: meditation increases your ability to focus, improves your attention, and advances your ability to come up with creative solutions to problems

  4. You will feel more in control of your life: you will create the mindset you want to bring into your daily activities by starting the day feeling grounded, aware, and clear-headed

  5. Ancient wisdom suggests meditation as a morning ritual

I agree with the author of the article and that is why I want to continue doing it.
