We were back in the car again after breakfast, after another few hours on the road. We were finally...home.
"Our endless & impossible journey toward home is in fact our home". David Foster Wallace
When writing this entry, that quote came to mind.
The words are from David's Laughing With Kafka essay.
There are two pieces of artwork on my daughter's website with that quote in.
Under Paintings and Sketches: She wrote: Impossible Journey. Acrylic on canvas, 12" x 12". June 16, 2017. Hanging at La Finca in Montréal (I used their logo so it's only fitting).
I did go to the little cafe shop once trying to locate that painting but unfortunately, it was put away by the owner. The little cafe shop got crowded with things so the owner took it down and put it somewhere else. I did make a request that if they are not going to keep it at one point, call me and I will gladly take it.
It is my daughter's artwork, after all, and a beautiful one.
She also made a poster with the same quote to hang on her wall (12” x 18”), the shape of the poster is the shape of a house.🏠
Did you feel sometimes after you traveled, however long or short, what you wanted the most, was to get home?
Someone said: The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.
Do you agree?
