That was the theme for tonight's Toastmasters meeting.
I delivered a Moment of Reflection. In search of the right one, I found out the following from my little pink book, related to the theme of the evening and I delivered them all.
The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will be making one. Elbert Hubbard
And in the end, it is not the years in your life that count, it is the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. Mahatma Gandhi
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Buddha
It was great to see a special guest in tonight's meeting: Frank Schilder.
He was the District Governor when I was awarded Club President of the Year 2008-2009. He handed me the certificate at the District Conference. He also visited our club with his team and presented the club with the trophy I was holding in the bottom photo, with McGill Toastmasters Club's name engraved.
He was the Grammarian for tonight and he provided a valuable, thorough, and candid report at the evaluation session.
I was also an evaluator for an excellent speaker who shared her life story with enthusiasm, insights, and great wisdom. She ended her speech with an inspiring message: life can be everywhere. Live everywhere and keep chasing your dreams.
Thank you Marna for leading us with a great example, with your passion for living life to the fullest!
It is inestimable. (Word of the day: too great to calculate).
