On the last day of 2022. I had a date, a perfect one!

Do you want to know whom I had a date with? 🙃🙃🙃

A date with myself: the most reliable, trustworthy, and punctual one 😉😉😉

It was foggy when I got up and then it started raining, not pouring, just drizzling, the kind of rain that made you feel the spring might be around the corner. 🌧️🌧️🌧️

I had the day planned the night before. I usually wrote down things I would like to do on a piece of paper. I like to check off things at the end of the day. I just checked my list. Everything was checked off. I am happy ✍️✍️✍️

We started the day by listening to Louise Hay's morning meditation. It is something I tend to do when I wake up too early. Her words often set the right tone for the day.

A simple but delicious oatmeal plus one boiled egg is all I need for breakfast.

A trip to the museum sounded like the best thing to do on a rainy day. I arrived before the big crowd came in as today was the last day of free museum admission. They did add a few new exhibitions since my last visit so it was productive. Some places also brought back memories of this summer when my kids visited and were there with me😘😘😘

After the museum, I went to see a movie. I was the first one to book a ticket last night and in the cinema, there were only five people.

The movie is titled: Woman of the Century (French w/e.s.t.). I heard about the main character through two French podcasts and the actresses portray the image really well. Simone Veil is a famous French figure who survived the Holocaust and went on to become a leading politician, human rights campaigner, and feminist -- through a series of non-chronological memories.

It is the second movie I watched since I joined the Cineplex club. I did learn a lot about Simone Veil from the movie and the little research I did after the movie.

On my way home, I had a few short but very pleasant trips to various grocery stores (Chinese, Korean, Lebanese, and Canadian).

And I picked up Chinese food from a restaurant😋😋😋

I added a glass of rosé 🍷to go with the rest, along with soft music playing in the background.

After publishing this post, I decided to just chill and watch some TV programs instead of another film📺📺📺

Here are a few quotes that validate my actions and reflections.

“A date with yourself is all you need sometimes.” ― Unknown

“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.” – Oscar Wilde

“Date yourself. Take yourself out to eat. Don’t share your popcorn at the movies with anyone. Stroll around an art museum alone. Fall in love with canvases. Fall in love with yourself.” Abhysheq Shukla
