Sleepless Night

Updated: Apr 24, 2021

What did you do if you woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep?

Did you pick up your phone, tablet, or a book on the nightstand?

Did you pick up a pen and paper and start writing down your thoughts?

From time to time, I experienced those sleepless nights.

Last night was one of them. I was awake for at least three hours after midnight.

What did I do?

I started writing up my speech for next Tuesday: Leadership and You!

I also jotted down some ideas about an article I want to write for the district newsletter: The Leader.

The editor sent out an email calling for contributions and the theme of the newsletter is about leadership. Since I am doing a speech anyway. I feel that I could go a little further and write an article. I did write two pieces back in 2009 when I was the president of McGill Toastmasters Club.

  • The Secrets of a Winning Club

  • Walk the Talk, Lead by Example

I attached one to this entry. I will attach the other one later. My articles were on page 9.

Someone said, once a Toastmasters, always a Toastmaster.

I don't know about others, I know that I will always be a Toastmasters.

The opportunity of learning, improving oneself, helping others, and networking is tremendous.

A Proud Moment is just one of many great moments.

Before going back to sleep, I also did my daily Duolingo French study. Today is day 108.

I checked out today's three pieces of training on Elevate.

What are your tips and tricks for sleepless nights?

The best strategy I've found to sleep faster is to use milk. The ideal format is heated milk, it contains tryptophan which is a precursor for serotonin.
