That was the title I planned to use before I headed out with my bike this morning.
I was invited to bike with a group for a 117 km ride to Oka.
I did bike to Oka before so I thought that I could do it again.
The person who invited me to join the group is also the one who did a 100 km Tour de l'Île de Montréal with me a few years ago. Unfortunately, we did not bike together all the way, he got sidetracked shortly after we started. He followed the crowd of people who were doing the 50 km so I did most of the 100 km all myself. It wasn't that much fun.
I did a few over 100 km in the past but that was a long time ago. In my mind, I can still go far.
I was partially wrong. I could go far but at my own speed. They were way too fast for me. I lost them shortly after we started.
I biked alone most of the time. I still enjoyed the scenery and the chitchat I had with my friends when I took my breaks. I had to say that I had much more fun doing my leisure biking than rushing through the street.
Speed biking is not my cup of tea.
I still did more than 40 km on this beautiful sunny Saturday, plus more than 10 km of steps.
I am happy that I did both.
A movie titled Alegria in the afternoon added more charm to my day.
And the fireworks? I couldn't ask for a better way to close the day.
