That was the title of my July 2018 monthly article. It was about the beauty of summer with all the activities I was engaged in. Believe it or not, there were some quite interesting activities.
It has been steamy hot for more than a week, unfortunately, I don't have much to do to beat it. Even though the mall started reopening to the public on June 19, due to the social distancing and mask-wearing, it isn't as pleasant as before. The almost "private" pool which we used often in the past years still remains closed.
The only thing that stays steady is my daily steps, rain or shine, COVID, or not. I started that in December 2016 when I got a Fitbit watch from my hubby. My goal was 8,000 steps. After I read that 10,000 steps are recommended by the American Heart Association, I adjusted my goal to 10,000 steps.
Since this summer started, I could be out on the go as early as 7:00 and return home from 1:30 to 2:00 hours later with the steps under my belt. To me, as long as I reach my goal, the rest is a bonus. Once I did a social distance walking with Jessica in my neighborhood, my first time and it was fun. I also like it when I was invited into various walking groups each week, and from time to time, I was on the leading board, just like the image attached (from this morning, June 23, 2020)
Discipline is really not that hard to achieve, all you need is to keep at it and before you know it, it became a habit. They say old habits die hard, the good news is this walking habit is one that will make you stay stronger and healthier, so, don't let that die, let's keep walking, shall we?
