AGT: Did You Know?

Updated: Mar 27, 2021

The show started in June 2006 and it earned Simon a Guinness World Record in 2014.

None of the current judges are from America.

There are "Got Talent" shows across the globe.

I started watching it only in recent years. Normally we watch recorded versions to skip the commercials.

This Wednesday night, I was almost glued to the couch for three hours. It was a night of the finale and I didn't want to miss the excitement of the big announcement.

My top five from the semifinals are as follows:

  1. Bello Sisters: It is a performance of strength, beauty, charm, and elegance

  2. Alan Silva: As commented by one judge, it is a "performance of a giant"

  3. Roberta Battaglia: As a 10-year-old, she is so talented, likable, and humble. She earned the golden buzzer from Sofia. I am so proud of her as a fellow Canadian

  4. Bad Salsa: Their unique combination of acrobatics and dancing is mind-blowing. The lightning speed of their moves is "out of this world"

  5. Archie William: His inspiring story. unbreakable spirit and strong voice won the hearts of millions.

A few didn't make to the top ten but still made to my favorites:

  1. Max Major: his performance was very impressive

  2. Jonathan Goodwin: Crazy act and it kept you sitting on the edge of your seat

  3. W.A.F,F.L.E.: Simon's Golden Buzzer. They represent youth and energy.

Songs are still the most moving acts in a way. Bad Salsa brought smiles to my face. Bello Sisters amazed me with human capability. Songs from Roberta and Archie and other amazing sings had brought tears to my face a few times.

What about you? Are you a fan of AGT?
