Making time for yourself can truly help you to make time for others.
In the article with the same title written when I was a student years ago, I revealed my secret of staying sane while raising two young children as a single mom: by making time for myself, I find the motivation and the energy to make time for others. My favorite quote says it all: "think about the things that bring you joy and then make a point of connecting with them as many times as possible, as often as possible"
I truly believe that we have to tend to our own needs first/often before tending to others' needs. My logic is simple: if you are not happy, how can you make others happy? Happiness is contagious, so is the opposite. You have to be the light first before you can light the room and chase away the dark, don't you agree?
Today, my children have all grown up but I still practice that tip often: making time for yourself.
What are your secrets to maintain your own sanity no matter the situation? I would love to hear them.
Very nice
