I pampered myself today and bought three beautiful things (Top photo) using a gift card.
The card is from Monica. She is the one who sang the Happy Birthday song in Portuguese to me on my birthdays. We met in 2004 at Toastmasters and our friendship continues. She is the creator of An Inspiring Newsletter and her October Newsletter; What do you want? just came out.
This month she invites us to start a new hobby, cook a delicious squash soup and discover the side effects of too much screen time.
I am impressed to read that she started to learn to play the piano.
I also understand better why she quit social media and stopped texting because of the side effects on her. Unfortunately, I can not quit social media just yet as that is the main method I keep in touch with my kids, family, and friends. I do limit my use of computers over the weekend to mostly in the evening: to write my blog. During the workweek, I increase my daily walk from two times to three. Inspired by another friend's Zumba class regular attendance, I decided to give it a try next Thursday.
Who knows, it might become my new hobby.
Thank you Monica for your inspiring words and your gift card. the cape will keep me warm, the flower cup will remind me of your vibrant personality. Next Thursday, I will wear that tank top for my first Zumba class.
