Silver Lining - Part One

Are you the type of person who finds a silver lining in every situation?

Do you see a glass-half-full or glass-half-empty?


According to Dictionary.com, Silver Lining is a sign of hope in an unfortunate or gloomy situation; a bright prospect. Example: Every cloud has a silver lining.


Silver linings of 2020. That is the theme for today's TM meeting.


In the weekly email sent by our VP Education, one of the silver linings is that we have been hosting our weekly meetings online since March. We even had our first successful online contest.


Yes, big thanks go to our committed members who demonstrated persistence and consistency. I also want to salute our dedicated executive members, for their generous contributions to the wellbeing of McGill Toastmasters Club.


Our VP Membership initiated a "Recognition Matters" project to motivate members' involvement. It is the first time we have such a project. Her effort is highly commendable.


Our VP Education (We have two) work diligently to come up with exciting meeting themes. Their encouraging words always shine through.


Our VP Mentorship created a survey before projecting her vision about her mandate.


Our Treasurer has been with the club since it was founded in 1998.


Our President wears many hats. He is Area Director and also serves as Zoom meeting expert whenever needed. He invited the target speaker and designed the agenda for our contest.
