Pathways - A New Way of Learning

I joined Toastmasters in 2003 and the education program was called CC and CL: Competent Communicator and Competent Leadership.

The current education program is called Pathways. It was introduced in 2017. The traditional education program, also called the legacy program was supposed to fade out by June 30, 2020. For some reason it didn't, it was extended. Some projects, like coaching and mentoring, can be done by June 30, 2021.

That is why I am excited to start my coaching project soon so that I can achieve my first DTM in time. My idol is someone who has already achieved 7 DTMs. I also have a colleague at McGill club who just got her second DTM. Her first was in French, this one was in English. I admire her determination and she inspires me to go for my own DTM.

To move along with my coaching project, I need to embrace the Pathway.

Thomas Fuller said; "All things are difficult before they are easy."

That is how I feel towards Pathways that every Toastmaster is talking about.

I clipped out some articles from my past Toastmasters magazines for close review and research:

  • Pathway: articles explaining different paths, reflections on the program

  • Club growth: articles about membership and having effective meetings

  • Job search: I was surprised to find articles to help enhance my job search skills

"You must welcome change as the rule, but not as your ruler" Denis Waitley.

Find out about Pathway and more at our meeting starting at 5:45 pm.
